That is some intense stare Jackie -- for some reason it reminds me of the poster from WWII "Uncle Sam needs you!" Very effective composition and use of textures -- a terrific image!

Never thought of the poster Gary, but I think you are right, we just need the finger point now:)

Quite the look, Jackie- very cool treatment. There is something quite human-like about it's expression and the way you've cropped so it has shoulders. The background adds to the illusion. Wish I had a witty caption-it sort of begs for one. :)

Good looking stare, Jackie. Almost a human like expression. Nice treatment, too.

Great title by the way -- that could also be a De Niro stare, in which the finger would point the other way ;)

Nice image and application, Jackie.

If you weren't Canadian, I would think you were making a political statement of the American Eagle looking down on the current antics of our government.

I do like the expression you captured here. Very humanistic ...

Jackie - - just curious as to your post prod. with this image. I checked out Orton and it describes combining out of focus and sharp focus togeather in layers. I assume you close-cut the chief subject here and combined him with a textured background. Where is the Orton or how does it reveal itself?
Gary

Gary, the Orton was just used as 10 percent to give it more punch. I masked out the bird for two different textures and the Orton applied last to the WHOLE image. It is a very subtle effect here. Hope that explains it.
