Hi All,

I recently came across this new? site, and I'm wondering if anyone has used them or has any thoughts about the technique. It seems very cool, and potentially worth trying, but I'm unsure whether or not the output would actually look good. The site seems oriented toward casual rather than serious photographers, hence my concern about actually placing an order. The print sizes are also crazy strange. Looks very interesting though.

Looks interesting. No mention of what resolution they want.

Gamut is likely to be limited and colors perhaps not quite as accurate as some might prefer. From the FAQ page: "If you are interested in color accuracy, please upload your images profiled according to sRGB standards." I.e., no customized profiles for soft proofing.

Most likely heat pressed onto a substrate and laminated to glass, Dye Sublimation from the looks of it.

I gave them a try. Colors washed out, one was nowhere near as sharp as the print. Neat idea but poor execution. I sent a complaint via email and they've offered to redo them. I'll repost when the new results are in.

Interesting to hear Doug, although sorry to hear of your troubles. I'll look forward to hearing how the redo's turn out. Good luck!!!

It's still a great concept but as they only print sRGB it's very disappointing. I cannot understand why anyone would do this.
