I couldn't sleep so I decided to take a look at some of my old (12/20/03) Zion pictures. Found this one. It was taken at the top of Kolob Canyon (north entrance). I exposed a RAW image twice (-1.5 and +1.5) and blended. The image is quite stunning and I think it will look nice printed big. Comments are always welcome. :) Any haloing was caused by resizing for the web.

Fixed the blue color shift:

Beautiful sky. Can you take some blue out of the front side of the mountain so the snow is white? Great job!

Thanks! I didn't see the blue. Guess that's what happens when you process when you are an insomniac.

I edited the original and removed the blue shift. Better?

My preference is somewhere in between the two; some penumbra is natural and not having "blue shadows" under natural light doesn't look quite natural to me. Also, since you removed blue from the whole image it took away from the sky as well (you may want to get the colour where you want it in the -1.5 file, then recombine.)
