I had my new 500mm out for the first time and was lucky enough to run into a family of foxes. There was the mother and (I think) six young. They showed little fear as long as I stayed in my car.

I had expected that I would have to learn some tight technique to eliminate camera shake, but I was surprise at how much DOF I needed to use compared to my 100-400mm.

Wonderful shot of this young cub Harold. The exposure looks spot on to me and the detail and expression are superb!

Well done! 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

Wonderful expression, very wide eyed! A little tight at the top but otherwise nitless in my book. Thanks for contributing.

Beautiful!

You're going to give Phil a run for his money if you can keep foxes like this coming!

Excellent shot Harold. Sure is a cutey.

I like 'em tight in the frame, but might I suggest a little increase in contrast to really make him pop.

You're clearly putting the new lens to some good use.....keep it up :)

Oh man what a cutie!
Agree a bit tight top and bottom, but still great.
