I know this is not a natural setting for an Anaconda, but it was a opportunity to get a close shot in the open. This specimen was about 12 feet in lenght and weighed in over 80 lbs. Unlike most Anacondas, this captive was very docile. Taken in 1963.

Nice portrait. I don't know that I'd want to get that close to an anaconda, though!

I wonder if a polarizer might have helped reduce reflections and increase saturation?

Excellent detail in this close-up; certainly lovely. Would be a bit lovelier with less harsh light, as has already been pointed out, but if you needed this image for a special purpose, it might be possible to make some color and contrast adjustments in a photo-editing program.
