This is the repost with Juli's suggestion about setting the black point
Image
Shot this at the Arboretum in Arcadia, Ca. a few days ago. I stood in front of the same bottlebrush tree for 2 hours while Western Tanagers, Bullock's and Hooded Orioles, Black-headed Grosbeaks and Bushtits came and went.

Visually stunning, the subject stands out as if it were embossed. Great work and thank you for sharing.

Richard,

I really like the texture of the bird - I agree with Griffin that it looks embossed. Very nice sot.

Stupendous setting and capture of the bee and beautiful bird. Great timing. The black (shadow) point appears too light on both PC and Mac monitors.

Wow, this is super! I haven't seen them back around here, yet. I'll have to pay attention to the bottlebrush trees if they attract such a good variety!

Stunning bird Richard and a wonderful image of it. The re-post looks great. I look forward to seeing more from your shoot.
