Early spring sunset in a field near my home. I wish the tree was a little more filled in just right of center for a more pleasing shape but what can you do? Cropped about 1/3 off bottom. Thanks for checkin' it out and appreciate comments of all kinds.

I like the tree and the color of the sky. I have a problem with the position of the sun. It's so low in the frame, it's fighting with the tree for attention. Do you have any where the sun has already set?

I understand what Dan is saying, but I like it as is myself. Very nice shot.

Mary,

I like the position of the sun, especially with regard to the towering tree. Very nicely done, IMO.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Very well done. this is one time a square format works well in a landscape photo.

I like this very much, but would have preferred the sun more to the right. Square landscapes are superb!

Mary - lots of opinions on that sun! I love trees and this is a fine one and the simple composition shows it off. Personally, I really like the position of the sun, I think it balances the tree perfectly - I fear it might be a bit boring and generic without the sun. It also lends the image a very strong sense of the moment.

cheers,
Eric

Yep , I like it !
Monique, I am packed and ready to go, I may not look like much but I am well behaved and can grow on you like a fungus, with no cure for it!!!

Thanks for the comments everybody. I love reading all the different opinions and ideas about the sun in this image. Reassures me that not everybody sees things in the same way....AMEN for variety! :D In case anybody is interested, I like the sun in this and it would seem rather mundane, IMO, without it. So I guess it stays right where it is for now but the next time I have a photo op like this I will be thinking about the things I have read here and I'll keep my mind open to what other possibilities might present themselves.....Thanks for taking the time to make comments! :D

The position of the sun works fine for me. It's just at the point where it's meeting with the horizon and that works well for me.
