:D :D :D Some shot Harvey. 1/500 capture is great. The action with the nesting material is very nice. Green leaves at the top frame the picture very well and the blue BG helps to focus attention on the bird.

500th is usually fast enough to freeze most things. Just proves how fast them little wings go :D

In addition to the above, I like the semi-circle created by the bird and nesting material.

Excellent shot!!

Very nice. Maybe a better beamer would have intensified the flash enough to freeze the wings.

This was done with a 180mm. macro lens and a BB would be overkill I think. I have some others shot at 1/3500 sec. which freezes everything. I was hoping for a bit of motion blur here.

Cool shot Harvey Can't think of anything that could have been done differently. All elements working together make a very strong image. Sweet

Great flight capture. This is hard to do (speaking from personal experience)! Nice positioning for background lighting.

What blows me away is the amount of remaining blur in those wings at 1/500th. Wow. I actually got one at 1/4000th once and there was stillblur!

Harvey,

Very, very nice; I like the motion blur here, and the way the nesting material makes a nearly complete sweep through the frame, through the bird.

I'm having trouble understanding EV -1 2/3 here; correct? why? how?

Also, are you sure about the ID?

Question #1...It was relatively dark and yet I wanted to stay at ISO 200 and have a shutter speed of 1/500 Sec. EV -1 2/3 gave me that and the flash became my primary source of light..
Question #2. Yup :D
Thanks for looking and commenting :)

Harvey,

This is an excellent shot. Great job capturing the wing motion. The nesting material is a nice bonus.

The blue BG frames the bird nicely, the nesting material adds an element, nice one Harvey.
