Some terrific feather detail here, and I really like that intent pose. It might have helped to shoot at a lower angle, but that's a small nit.

Beautiful bird in a great pose, well exposed and very sharp. Framing and background look very good. A ground pod shot would have made it sensational. Congratulations Jim

What is a Todd-pod?

Hi There!!! The bird is hunting not posing!!! Lovely looking bird. Is this bird a man eater? Why were you on the top of the vehicle?

Richard I am just guessing but the Todd-pod sounds like something Todd Gustafson designed for shooting form the vehicles. Lets you attach the Wimberley and you don't need to use a been bag.

Todd is an extremely talented Photographer and an even grater person.

BTW Jim I did not imply you should have gotten out and used the ground-pod....I know there are lots of things there that can have you for lunch

Richard, Alfred was correct on The Todd-pod. It allows a Wimberley to be attached so its great for smooth panning which is not real good on a bean bag. It also puts you up about 12 " higher which is good for distant subjects but bad for low birds.

Peter, I don't think the lions would have objected to my getting out and using a ground pod.

Mike, The red eye ring blew me away when I first saw it.
