Hopzilla Climbing

Once a year a LOT of fairly large grasshoppers appear at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Preserve. They're everywhere, and one has to be careful not to step on them. This was taken in May, 2001.

It's not a tiger, but about the same color. :)

This is really cool. I miss seeing the macro close ups. They used to appear in this forum when NSN first opened. Sharp as can be, excellent exposure and perfect DOF in my book. Thanks for sharing in the wildlife EYE motif..

These get to be 3 to 4 inches long! This was one of the larger ones, climbing up the 2 by 6 wood hand rail on the stairs up into the observation tower. Watch where you put your hand!
