Only been at the new site for a few minutes, but here are my initial comments so far.

1) I miss not being able to immediately select back to the forum after posting a reply. This is what comes up after posting:

Return to the forum last visited

When I choose "Return to the forum last visited" it goes back to the posting and not the forum page. The old site link went back to the forum page.

2) The site is definitely loadiong slower for me, and I have the fastest cabvle connection available

3) The are no smilies available for the quick reply form. They only show up if I hit preview. I liked them being available for all replies forms.

Thanks for all the hard work and time put into this new look Greg. Looks very nice :)

Smilies in quick reply are an issue we are aware of and one on the list to fix. You can still insert them if you know the shortcut :)

Clicking return to the forum works for me here and the site is much faster than it used to be from this end as well (on my slow sat connection) though it may be the high traffic at the moment. If you continue to have problems let me know by e-mail and I will look into them further.

Thanks Time :)

Forget #1. I just posted again in the birds forum and now "Return to the forum last visited" is going back to the main forum. No idea why it wasn't doing that for my first few posts :?

A great new look and congratulations, Greg! :D

1. Speed is faster than the old but I miss the 'who's on line thing' at the top of forum page.

2. One other thing, would the server now check for 'image size' as well as 'posting interval' violations automatically?

Great new site, Greg. One of the old sites best features was the ability to go to the Next or Previous post. I used it almost exclusively and wonder if it's possible with this software?

No big deal if it's a PITA. :-)

Jim

I have added this to the list. PHPBB seems to have removed that "feature".

Interesting that it is faster for some, and slower for others. It is still quite slow for me here, compared to the previous version.

Like KK, I too hope that the new software can automatically check for image size and posting intervals. :)

Another thing I noticed is that there is no option for "next image" when viewing a portfolio. I found this easier than having to back out to look at another image.

Not sure what is going on with the speed from your end Tim but I have been told by almost everyone that it seems faster. And it is noticeably faster here. Is the rest of the site slow as well?

As for the "Next image" that has not changed. In fact portfolios has not changed at all.

My mistake, I now see the previous and next links in the top right. Somehow I could not find them when I first looked

The slow response seems only to be when viewing the forums. Sometimes I have to close and try again.

No problem Tim. Perhaps deleting your board cookies (bottom right of the forums pages just about the dark "footer" area. See if that speeds things up. :)

The Previous and Next tags show up, but the sequence is not necessarily the next or previous message on the list. Probably a coding item.
