I recently overheard that there is a plugin available for PS Elements that will basically add all of the functions that it is missing from PS 7. Has anyone heard of this plugin and if so, how is it and what is it called?

Saw I was getting some hits from this discussion and wanted to try and help out...

Hidden Power provides access to (useful!) features hidden in the Elements interface by Adobe engineers and provides work-arounds for many of the most-wanted features in Photoshop. The list includes Curves, channels, history brush, CMYK, masking, guides, path editing, etc.

The book includes a set of tools that can be installed on mac or pc for Elements 1 or 2. The book includes instructions for using the tools. A separate free set of tools adds in some fun features and the ability to run actions -- these tools are different than and complimentary to the ones in the book. I will continue to add stuff as time allows...in fact, this weekend I just added a healing tool. They said it couldn't be done.

Anyone can get the free tools:

You can sign up for a free newsletter:

This month's newsletter talks about getting healing (I call the tool Mend).

The book is hopefully worth every penny in turning Elements into everything digital photographers need for enhancing their images at a fraction of the cost of Photoshop:

Photoshop users, I didn't leave you out...My new book on Photoshop shows you many things about Photoshop you probably never knew:

If I can answer any questions, please let me know.

I bought the book and use the tools - excellent.

The thing is, since buying the book with the idea of using curves etc on my old Coolpix 990 I bought the Canon Digital Rebel and have so little post processing to do now

As good as these tools are, I would rather use Color Mechanic Pro than curves, whether I was in PS Elements or Full Blown PhotoShop.

Nevertheless, the book is a fine read, the tools are really good and his treatment of printer profiles (and why you don't need them) is both insightful and provocative.

What is it that you find Color Mechanic does that is so interesting? i am sure you can duplicate that in Elements and/or Photoshop.

Ease of use.

True, there's nothing new in it, but I just like the interface...
