A previous thread brought up this question:

Being new to the digital workflow I thought that the embedded jpeg with the 10D's RAW file would be alot easier and quicker for web useage than fiddling with the RAW file. Is this true?
How or do you all get your original images to "web ready" most efficiently?

Thanks! You guys are great at answering my rather ignorant questions.

Both ways seem to be used. Some folks I know use the JPEG some, myself included, use the RAW and then make a JPEG. The advantage of the former is speed, the advantage of the latter is that all of the processing you do on the AW file can then be incorporatd into the JPEG.

I am learning how to use my 10D and was wondering if this embedded jpeg file is done automatically when the camera is set to RAW mode or is there something else I need to set from the menu?
