I really like the engineering of this strap and buckle. I don’t use a strap and few of my friends do, but this looks great for those who do. Not inexpensive, but well made.

Yes, the buckle system looks very slick, but the straps have very little length adjustment which limits the versatility.

I liked the tamrac strap which they quit making.

Like you, I haven't used a strap in years since I shoot 95% of my work on a tripod. The final straw was when my strap caught on a branch and pulled my camera from my hand and then proceeded to "sling" $7,000 worth of camera and lens into the river I had been shooting. That'll make you want to puke!

Then you missed the point of the new attachment system. It leaves nothing attached to the camera when quickly removed, unlike almost any other strap. Hype is often a part of promotions, but this strap does have a unique and strong(rated at 115# capacity) attachment system that is completely removed in an instant. The article does state that “game changing” is a bit of hyperbole.
