The monarchs were late this year, and they are still coming through the meadow in twos and threes. This one came to nectar at the heath aster last week:
Canon 10D, 300/4 + 1.4 TC (no extension for this big butterfly!), F16, 1/500, no flash Bright late afternoon light. I had some with the butterfly bigger in the frame, but I think I like this better. We're expecting snow, so the last of these better fly south... Tom
