Pentax 645NII, 120mm Macro, Velvia 100F, diffused by another photographer's shadow...

Found this near Bonanza Falls just to the west of the Pocupine Mountains State Park In Upper Michigan. Taken during the gathering.

I really like this one. I think it is because the cold, hard, massive rocks are set in contrast to the delicate little tiny fern.. Great eye!

I also really like this one. Like Dennis, I find the contrast of the rock and fern striking.

Nice composition with the strong diagonal and opposing lines below. Interesting that Dennis describes the rock as cold, hard, massive. This setting around here might be prairie gumbo after a rain. I can see the colors of clay. Cold, soft, massive and slimy. (Very bad to drive on.)

Excellent juxtaposition between the inert earthly matter and the living fern, the diagonal split on the rock makes the fern look vulnerable in such an inhospitable looking place , yet she derives sustenance from the earth that looks so barren!!!, Very nice!!! Congrats!! 8)

Very nice composition, and the diffused light and soft colors really make it appealing.

I love the comp and the colors. the fern looks so dwarfed by the rock. Very neat shot.

Nice composition. Strong diagonal line with the delicate fern anchored at one corner. Nice pinks in the rock.

Very nice shot, Ken. Great use of the diagonal across the frame and I like how the position of the ferns sits well in the corner you've placed them in.
