During a late summer day a female dragonfly (green darner?) is lying the eggs well protected by the male, which holds her tightly at the head.
In order to get the nice reflection in the calm water a low view angle was necessary. A certain distance to avoid the insects flying away was crucial as well. Solution? 4/500mm + 1.4x, monopod, chest-deep water, angle-viewer. Also important: to get the blurring effect on the wings a 1/40 sec. shutter speed turned out to be the best, thereby the image stabilizer was very helpful to achieve a decent overall sharpness. Levels, Saturation, USM manuel
