Golden Lion Tamarin
Captive
EOS3, 500 F4L IS, 550EX @ -2/3, Velvia100F, slight crop from left.

These guys are so quick. They have free range in the trees around their enclosure and stay out most of the day, leaping from one branch to another, trying to push each other off

Not a great shot this one, (Carol has some better ones as she was able to get a lot coser to them with the 300mm), but I like it.

Comments welcome and thanks for looking.

I like the pose and the curious look. Nice details in the face and the hair. You've done a good with the flash considering the strong back lighting.

Dave -- I think this is a very good shot. The exposure is very well done, and the animals face fits perfectly in the composition with a nice smooth background. The only two nits are the blocked-up shadows from the flash, and the bright area in the upper right. Still very much a shot to be proud of.

Wht a gorgeous animal and a very nice shot. I might try some crops from the left side to de-emphasize the OOF tree.

Love the way the tamarin really stands out here. (No camo for this guy. :) )

Composition works well and the flash on the tamarin gives good detail there. You might try to underexpose the ambient by 1 or more.

Cute shot of the tamarin. I think cropping out a lot of the OOF tree on the left puts more emphasis on the tamarin.
