I really much prefer either a head on or profile shot with damsels and dragons but I've been trying to get a shot of a scarlet for a long time with no luck so I had to settle for this.

I would "settle for this" too, Harvey! The perch and background really show off the dragon nicely. Great colors, too! Very well done.

I am not a big fan of insect photos, but this one is beautiful.

Harvey, this is a great photo. I like the soft focus diagonals of the background and the leftmost dying vegetation. The pose is a very good one for identification as it shows the dragonfly to be a Roseate skimmer(pink form) having a pruinose blue thorax and a pink to red-violet pruinose abdomen. I hope you can post a scarlet, I like viewing species from different locations. Thanks.

Excellent colors throughout and the details on the skimmer are wonderful.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I find the brown stalk of grass in the LL corner a bit distracting.

Very nicely done. Love the composition and the colors in the dragon. Do wish that the brown stem wasn't there.

Very nice Harvey, love that plum red colour on the damsel and the detail is superb.
