It would be nice to see a little light in the eyes, but I do like the play of light and shadow in this image.

Dappled shadows are very nice with good light through the face. Range of light makes it a bit tough here, but a little use of "curves" could bring out more detail in the shadows and make the lion more dramatic (although also a bit less hidden).

Nice pose and the dappled light is a nice effect. I agree with the advice that Rich gave you on using curves to open up the dark area a bit and maybe I would have stood back just a bit more to get the whole tail in.
