hey guys :)

here's a shot i just took tonight (lol, i failed already andrew ;) but i learned some things in my observation time :) )

i really liked the pattern shown here, and knew it would be great black and white...
i did take the shot, and convert it to b/w twice, and blend them...so there was detail in the shadows...but i decided i liked it better like this...

what do you think?

Vito

*EDIT*
sorry..forgot ;)
shot with:
Canon 300D
with EF-S 18-55mm lens (lol, sounds better than 'kit lens' ;) )

with a setting of.....
6 seconds at f22...iso 100

Excellent diagonals, and I like the high contrast B&W treatment.

You are supposed to wait a month before you pick up the camera mate :D

Nice use of lines and shades Vito. What was the camera and lens and what was the lighting ???. We just gotta know :D Nice choice in vertical but this would also work as a horizontal as well with those angles.

All the best Vito.

alright... i posted the tech. details on the original post...but, i'll post the lighting stuff here..
the lighting was,

cheap studio lighting:
1 pitch black basement
1 flashlight
2 notecards (only used one)

i just had the camera on a tripod, subject (don't even know what to call it lol, decorative dried plant thingy) on a table (ping pong :P)
used the flashlight, coming from the side...with notecard on the opposite side, bouncing the concentrated light (i had the flashlight pointed more at the notecard, so the more powerful light would hit the notecard instead of the subject..because it isn't solid)
i did, partway through the exposure, flash the light into the shadows a bit...to give them a little detail (to pull out if i wanted ;) )

...that's about it...

I like this but it needs something intangible to me. A center of attention from all the tangle would be good. Adding some film grain effect would be good here but I guess that would make it qualify for another forum.

You have to hand it to Vito for experimenting stuff
Keep it up, you are on your way!!!
I would also like to see something to break the pattern, but I guess that's a matter of taste :)
Great job!

Very nice. The B&W treatment suits it well. Looks all the points have been hit above. Some images just don't require a center of attention. This is very well done and thanks for the details on how you did this.
Thanks for posting,
