Motif: Getting low....

No, it's not a beached whale on the prairie!

This is literally the only photograph I have of me in the field. So we get a motif shot and a butt shot rolled into one! :D

My friend Bob took this shot of me out at Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. I'm down low trying to coax my little friend into coming closer.....In the background you can see people parked at the main prairie dog town, and in the very background, some of the Wichita Mountains (Well, they're mountains for Oklahoma!).

I wear that hat pretty much all the time I'm in the field. I actually have a couple of basically identical ones. They are extremely practical hats for Sunny conditions, but they are NOT too good for picking up members of the opposite sex!

When I was travelling and NOT doing nature photography, I once visited Universal Studios. I was wearing the hat of course. When they were seeking volunteers to come up and be embarassed by being demonstrators, I of course volunteered. And the lady picked me out by saying "And the man in the....interesting...hat!"
