Yes, .................. a madness of lines and color.

I like shooting these flowers looking straight down on top of all those petal ridges with the 100mm macro & 50mm reverse.
I can get hundreds of abstract lines and shapes, and only do I start looking for composition when I look into the viewfinder. Really does not matter to me much what is in focus and what is not. I just try to get some of the edges in focus, and let the rest fall into place.
The front of the lens is 1/4" from the flower, and the view you see here or the coverage area is less than 1/4".

Thanks for looking gang!

Very cool. Did you do any processing or is the glow natural?

Thanks guys!

Wil, there was a slight (very minor) adjustment in levels/curves using Photoshop.
Seems that you can get some real pretty glows while using this setup, and especially with some sidelighting involved.
But this flower also has that type of "diamond dusting" that you see in a lot of flowers, and it can act like thousands of little mirrors. With a darker colored flower, it can do wonders for the soft/dreamy look that I might be after, but with a much lighter flower it is hard to get anything that looks decent because of that glare or glow that you will get from that diamond dusting. Becomes washed out a little I guess you could say.

Hope this helps, and thanks again!

I love the green and the now sharp, now blurred edges. A quarter inch! that's close. My multiple TC stack gets close, but not that close.

Wonderful!!! Wonderful!!! Wonderful!!!

The blues really work so well for this type of shot Mike, the intensity of the colour really glows with a life all its own!
