Here's some late fall aspens from North Dakota (yes, there are trees here).

Not much here, light is flat maybe in sunset or sunrise would make a different.

I love doing shots like this. I actually prefer this one cropped from the top so that the trees are clipped - this seems to put more emphasis on the structure of the trunks and branches. I'd say keep on shooting these kinds of images and look for different kinds of intersting patterns in the trees and branches.

Nice graphic image. There are infinite possibilities with this type of subject.

I think there is almost too much here. Trim off the tops of the trees. Eliminate a reference for the viewer to know where they are. By forcing them to just wander among the shapes of the trees, I feel it would become more of a dynamic composition.

I really like the simple shapes and colors here and would experiment with many different crops and orientations.
