While i was lucky enough to have the day off from work today, (thanks rain :D ) i got a chance to go out and shoot a little bit. In recent months ive been very strict on myself to follow alot of the rules of photography.

Today i went to shoot for myself, not worrying about rules, technique and or pleasing others which i sometimes seem to do. Not wanting to follow or copy somebody else's work which i also tend to do at times. Im still searching for my own personal vision with hopes of developing my own unique style. Today it felt as though i was following some of my old footprints, like ive been down this road before  :D I must be getting closer!

This image i seen from a distance and it immediatley grabbed my attention. Though the straight version out of the camera was o.k, i added a few minor adjustments including a little noise to help it out.

Your comments as always are very appreciated! Sorry for yapping!!

Thanks for looking,
robert.................

I love this, Robert...absolutely love it. My first instinct is to pick a nit re the bare branches jutting down toward the right, but you know...after a bit of additional consideration, I think they work well as a subtle juxtaposition to all the opposing diagonals.

I'm really fond of that shock of color (the grasses) in what is otherwise an essentially monochromatic image.

In short, this is great. Congrats.

Robert, really nice! I probably would have walked right past this scene without seeing the possibilities.

Robert,

Another great shot!!
I like that the branches extending presicely into the corners.
I don't agree that this shot doesn't follow the rules though. I see both thirds and diagonals in action here as well as color and shape contrasts. But you probably did it intuitively.

Hey Robert,

I'd say you've been steadily working towards a vision and style of your own for quite some time now .. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to watch this develop over the last so many months, and have enjoyed it very much. Your work has really improved out of sight.

This image is one that I like a lot. It's what I think of as simply very easy to look at. I would like to see it larger, and I'm sure it prints well.

Sounds like your day today was just what the process of art should be all about, IMO. Hope you enjoyed it. Now get back to work tomorrow! :D

Cheers

Carl

Robert,

A very artistic rendition. Good for you. Please yourself, if you can't do that, you can't expect anyone to be pleased.

I like it - JPEG compression is the enemy of shots like this. I bet it looks great without so much compression.

Robert, I think from looking at most of your photos that you do have a style or vision that is yours. I love the shot.

I like it very much. As EJ said, Jpegs are enemies of shots like this.
