Hi John,

I think this is a wonderful view and I can see why you stopped to photograph it. You have nice clouds in the sky but need better light to make this a more interesting shot. Early morning and late evening could possibly transform this into something special. I also might have opted for a vertical, with a longer lens to emphasize the small lakes and the layers of the mountains. If you could get some mist in those layers ... even better! Maybe some fall color would help also.

I think Jenny said it all. The photo as shot here would be better with about half the sky cropped off but there just isn't an area of interest that grabs the viewer. Sometimes grand views like this look awesome when looking at it but don't inspire in a small photograph - most Grand Canyon shots are that way for example.
