The beautiful colors of Painted Desert/Petrified Forest NP in Arizona are hard to imagine, especially after a rainfall.
Nikon D700, Nikon 24mm f2.8, 1/125 sec.

I like how the various layers of the earth are so well defined, Joe. Easy to understand how the national park got it's name. Very nice.

As I recall, those were just grasses, but if you look at the bottom of the ravine, you can see some large petrified wood pieces. Thank you both for the comments.
