mangrove trees crying out for water... ;-)

I think this shot is very effective in B&W. I like the dramatic sky. I only whish the mangroves were a bit bigger in the frame.

I would also like to have seen the mangroves more prominant in the shot. Where did you shoot this? At first I thought mahagony hammock, then I realized they were mangroves......

those are small mangrove trees - they can't be made more prominant without overlapping some areas of the scenery which shouldn't overlap or seriously cropping the menacing clouds.

i do agree with the bottom crop :-)

This is very cool. It sure depicts the kind of weather we are getting here right now, hot, stormy and no rain, but that will change soon.

I like the extreme contrast, it fits the dry mood of the picture. How did you get that effect? Channel mixer?

fred miranda's 'bw workflow pro' was used to do the conversion (red filter applied, hence the dark sky)
