Grotto Falls - Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee
EOS 1Ds, 24-70@ 38mm, 2 sec, f/11, ISO 200

One of the many hikes I did during my trip to the Smokies was the short 3 mile round trip hike to Grotto Falls. Here is a portion of that water fall - I really liked the mossy and craggy foreground rocks.

Those mossy rocks in the FG are very nice. They look soft.

Soft as in out of focus or soft as in mushy? They look on the verge of being oversharpened on my monitor which is usually about right for most CRTs?

Every 7 years, I get 12 weeks of paid vacation - I have been with the company for 21 years now so this is one of those years and I'm making the most of it :)

I really like this. Just enough water falling to get nice whispy streaks without burning out, and the earthy tones and green in the FG, just great.

Solid shot, E.J. I might have traded a couple stops of dof to get the fern to not be blurred, just my opinion.
