Well the light was pretty much dull due to the hot and hazy morning weather so I put the bright ball of sun in front of a subject, instead of using the light in a larger scene.

Beautiful!
The composition is very nice and the overall orange/yellow color awesome!
I might have positioned the sun a little more to the left.

There are those images that says "Dan Creighton" all over them and you can tell them without the name.
This is one of those images!
Need I say more? :)

Very strong image. I like the very dominant black area reaching for the sun. Very nice.

Nice image. I'd be interested to see an off centre version.

This is composed very nicely. I wonder why did you use the polarizer?

There was little color in the sky and the b/g provided just enough additional warmth. Unlike standard polarizers there is some effect when not at a right angle to the sun due to moisture/haze in the air.

A very interesting an pleasing composition - surprised there isn't a bunch of flare.

The sun while it appears like a bright point was pretty muted coming through the atmosphere so the flare problem was non-existant luckily.
