I remember where I was and the emotions involved when JFK was shot even though I was only a child. I remember watching as the first man set foot on the moon. I will always remember how hard it was to stay focused on my job (as an OR nurse) as we listened to what was happening on the radio on 9/11/01. Last night was sad and poignant but as I saw this tribute in person for the first time, I was glad I was with good friends. Thank you all for last night. :)

Canon 10D, Vivitar Series I 19-35 WA lens @ 22mm, 13 secs, F13, ISO 200, Small amount of work in PS.
Comments and critiques always welcome!

I grew up in New York City. I remember when the World Trade Center was built. I also remember working as a photo assistant in Windows On The World. When the twin towers crashed I felt like I was punched in the stomach.

This is a beauty, Gail. I think I'd put this one on the wall.

Great image Gail, thanks for posting. It speaks an unforgetable silence that may be hard to explain, but somehow easily understood!

Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

I do remember what I was doing on that day, here in the UK. This simple tribute is powerful. A new friend of ours died there about two weeks after we met, his first day back at work after a vacation.
Gail, I appreciate that this is emmotive, but I shall offer a suggestion. I see this image is digital. I think that the feel of the image may be enhanced further if it were black and white but keeping the twin beams blue and cropping a little from the bottom as threre are on reflections in the water.
Another image by Attila come s close to what I mean.
Thanks
Hari
