This was my first photo taken with a 4 X 5 camera. I rented a Sinar F1 for the weekend two weeks ago to try it out and I fell in love with the format. So, I bought a cheap Crown Graphic to continue to learn with.

Nice scene, J...but the colors are a bit tough on the eyes...may want to desaturate them a bit.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

fixed.

I've been having some issues with the saturation of my images on the web. It seems that they're only displayed in the 216 websafe colors (?). Any tips?

4x5 is great. I've been shooting 4x5 since April. I'm sorry but I have to agree with the others that this image looks over saturated. The sky especially looks unreal.

I really like the composition with the red, tan then blue. The blue still looks electric to me but it is better then before.

Mind if I repost?

So you rented a Cadillac then bought a Chevette!!! But hey, the vehicle doesn't matter is the destination right!! Welcome to large format. Have fun playing with movements and mastering the media.

This is a nice first shot. The electric sky is a perfect candidate for a Hue adjustment on the blues. The clouds could be a bit whiter also.

Keep shooting as much LF as you can afford!!

John

Interesting shot of an intense landscape - wish there was something going on in the sky.

Apart from the super over saturation I like this very much.
