I guess you can say the horizon is not in the center. Fantastic clouds that day.

When I opened this post, I thought, "Holy moly...look at that orange!" But that's all there is...There is this initial "wow!" feeling until you notice that the sky is all there is to this image.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

I was there a month ago. There is a little bit of the mountains. I had a choice of how much silhouette to include and chose to minimize the mountains since they would only be black anyway. The sky was awsome and that was the point of this shot.

Fire in the Sky! Great skyscape and I agree with your decition to include as little of the mountains as possible.

It's certainly an awesome sky but I agree with Mahesh on this one. I'd like to see a little more of the mountains to anchor the image and I think cropping the darker portion of the sky at the top would strengthen the composition.

This does have a big wow factor when first opening but I too would like something more to anchor the image. Or, no land at all and just an abstract pattern of orange.

I like it with the top 1/3 cropped off. Then the center of the image is the swirling orange. It looks like rocks floating in lave. Cool.

Thanks for the crop suggestion. THe swirl cloud in the center reminds me of the storm on Jupitor.
