Pyramid Peak at Pyramid Lake - Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1D, 16-35 @ 23mm, 1/200, f/8, 0.6 GND, ISO 200

Some of you have probably seen this shot. It is one of my favorite spots in Jasper National Park in the beautiful Albertan Canadian Rockies. After a two and a half day winter storm I was rushing to this spot early one morning which required about a 1 mile run with my equipment to get the good light. The lake had frozen overnight behind me up to the spot where I took this shot. The outside temperature at the time of the shot was -25 C or about -6 degrees F (pretty darn cold for a desert dweller  )

Very well done E.J. Exposure and compositon area both right on!

I'm thinking I need to plan a week to 10 days in this location!

Great light and shooting to you all!

I remember this one. Very nice!!

I also remember when we were there during the Jasper STL.
The windchill was brutal! And I live up here, you must have been dying....

E.J.,

Ken beat me to it. The image is good but the clouds and fog put it in a speacial category.

Excellent, as usual. Demonstrates perfectly the correct use of the GND filter. The reflection is still darker than the sky and everything looks very natural . Beautiful!

You got it.

It was great meeting you on Saturday. Hope you had a good ride back to Phoenix. I had a great sunrise shoot this morning.

I guess I am the odd man out here....I wish the clouds were not in the reflection on the lake, but everything else looks great, E.J. Nice shot.

A masterful piece of art, E.J. I have nothing else to say! :-)
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
