this is the result of not sleeping...in any event, this is a parrothead who I encountered atop a nice attractive lady on Anna Maria Island beach. I asked her if I could take a portrait of her parrot and she obliged.

Here is the image with some ps work...I've added a watercolor effect as well as gothic glow layered into the mix...pumped the saturation and voila...an image fit for a drink... :P :)

I've tried water colour effects Mike, no luck so far. :| This is one heck of an effect for this colourful portrait. Almost like a very smooth grad for the background, very nice work Mike. See if you can get rid of that blue line in the bottom left M8t. That just catches my eye.

All the best up yonder, this really suits this :)

This is a really cool effect--I've got to mess around in the filter gallery.

This is superb - a real wallhanger.

Was she disappointed you thought her parrot more photogenic than her!

What I like to do with the watercolor effect is to layer it on the main image and tweak the opacity until it's just right...otherwise, it looks too abstract...

Thanks for that Mike. I tend to over cook mine, maybe I need to tone it down a bit like this one. This really works !!!

All the best Mike, keep them coming :)

Wow! This is GREAT work, just what PS potential should bring out to create the big swash of color these gorgeous birds can be. The subtle greens and blues are a nice complement to the reds.
