I heard this bird long before I could figure out his location. Hopefully there isn't to much grass blocking the subject.

Gorgeous! I admire your tenacity and patience to get the shot. Looks like you were crawling around for this one! I think a vertical would have been good too, allowing some room for the legs. Love the orange bill!

This is beautiful. Love the low angle and the beautiful light. Given how secretive Rails are, it seems appropriate to be somewhat obscured. That open orange bill is the icing!

Nice work! These birds are just about impossible to photograph, so I know you had to work for it. I agree the grass is totally appropriate.

Richard, I love the way this bird is framed between the oof forground and background. The composition is great and the colors complimentary as well. Nice shot.
