Blue Winged Teal (Anas discors-Male)

The light was right, the skies were clear and he decided to parade in from of my lens, They arrived a few weeks ago from the cold north, more than likely they will stay most of the winter!!

Nice one Alex. The light is excellent on this bird. We have lots of ducks in San Diego now too, I was shooting a Cinnamon Teal at a small pond yesterday.

Lovely image. Only nit or preference would be a little less head room.

Hey, you sure you weren't following Carol and I around on Sunday
First the Coscoroba swan and now a blue winged teal. Next you'll post a Woodie :D

Mind you, this is SO much better than mine. Very nice.

I would love to get this close to a BWT. These ducks are absolutely beautiful. This looks like it needs some CCW rotation otherwise perfect, as your usual. :D

A real beauty Alex, captured to perfection!! Congrats!!

As Dave said, you appear to have taken all the birds we took at the weekend - not bad going from one side of the pond to the other!!

Alex,

I'd be proud if I got one this good. You even captured the sheen on his head. Great light.
