Hi all,

Another recent shot from my SPLASH period!! this is an adult Black-headed Gull hitting the water. The pattern on the wing tips is distinctive and a sure way of identifying any of the small Gulls.

1Ds 500/4 1/500 @ f10 ISO 400

Thanks all,

Alister

Alisterm the symmetry of the reflection here is absolutely fantastic. This is definately out of the box but equally cool! Great job! :D

The calm water, which allows for the wonderful reflection, along wiht the stop action photography, is superb, Alister!!!!

This is an incredible shot.

I have a couple of hundred shots from Wakodahatchee identical to this in every respect, except that mine are all out of focus, show an empty patch of water, or have half a gull in them (sometimes all three).

Is there any technique you can share that helped you increase the success rate on this type of shot? Did you prefocus?
