Great action!

Perhaps a little centered (normally I'd say you would want space in front of the bird, though with a 'wake' I'm sometimes tempted to leave the space behind instead). Looks like you had pretty harsh light to work with.

I think you needed the space behind. I've photographed these birds thousands of times and this one differs from any I have captured. Fine action and wing position. Good detail on the legs. The often disappear into darkness when the lighting is difficult. You might have been able to bring a little detail in the shadows forward with curves or shadow/highlight in PSCS (are you working with it?).

Overall, an exceptional behavioral shot. I love the trailing water.

I like the trail from the foot dragging in the water...If it was not for that I would say it was too centered
