1D MK II, 600 w/ 1.4X TC, 1/1000 sec, f/5.6, ISO 400

Irvine, CA

It waded and fed just like an adult Avocet only it was pint sized and looked extremely vulnerable in this wide open pond--couldn't have been more than a couple weeks old.

What a real cutie......all the way from his fuzzy tail to the drop of water at the end of the bill. I do need to get to California some time to see them!!

You oughta DIE! This one just kills me; it is so lovely. The diagonal pose adds power to the delicateness (is that a word?) of the chick. Totally priceless. Kay loves it too and says that she loves her Toshiba laptop!
Best and love, artie

ps: Love the new featehrs coming in, probably the greater coverts. Not to mention the water drop! Yikes.

Thanks Ofer. What you don't see is that this chick was moving its head and neck quickly from side to side in a sweeping motion so I needed a faster shutter speed than one would think and I didn't want to crank up the ISO just yet.
