Excellent image! Seeing this bird up on a perch and calling is great. A bit of a halo from oversharpening is my only nit.

Very nice Gerald!
This behavior with Y Leggs I've experienced when getting to close
to their young or a nest!

Love to see shorebird up on perch ...
Nice one despite a bit over sharpened, Gerald!

Really nice capture of this bird, in a tree & calling make this stand out. Do these birds spend much time in trees ?

Would consider a slightly wider crop with a little more space to the left, to reflect the long elegant body, but maybe that's just me.

Colin, as Chris D. mentioned, the yellowlegs will fly to a perch and call when they are alarmed near their nest site. I had stopped by a wetland where I had heard a LeConte's Sparrow calling and the yellowlegs appeared. I took a few quick shots, then left it alone.
