This is another of the wood duck drakes from late yesterday afternoon here at my house. His tail feathers and wing feathers are growing back in nicely after losing them in his molt into non-breeding plumage.

Great reflection, like the way the colour is peeking out from behind the browns.

Would go a touch more sharpening.

THanks for looking. I am really pleased that these three drakes and two hens have chosen to spend the summer with me this year. I am able to get a good timeline on their molts and see how long it takes to regrow their plumage and flight feathers. I am looking forward to seeing them transition back into breeding plumage. I can show the progress of each of these birds through the two molts. I will try and get enough shots to post a photo essay of this progress for one specific bird.
