Very nice portrait! Great details and crisp sharp. My only nit is the bright reflection on the beak.

Very cool colors on this guys cheek. The reds and oranges just pop off that overal greyish tones of most of the feathers. Very cool portrait.

Andy, that is one fine portrait. Great detail and sharpness. I don't find the beak to be overly bright, the highlights seem to add depth. I believe those highlights add depth to the image which would otherwise be rather flat.

Finely detailed portrait of a really interesting looking bird. Reminds me of an etching. Very well done. I also like the highlight in the beak and don't find them to be too much.

I thought from the thumbnail it might look over flashed, but larger size looks ok. I'll get to Kapiti one day :(
You sure use a range of gear.
