1D MK II, 300 f/2.8 w/2X TC, f/5.6, 1/2500 sec

Bankin' into the curve like a 200 meter sprinter. Once again the 300 f/2.8 + 2X TC worked well here--a 600mm wasn't an option with the waves washing in.

I love the intimacy of this shot, Steve. The low angle really makes it, and the framing is excellent.

Nice capture! I know how hard that is with fast moving shore birds. I like this a lot. Thanks for sharing.

KK, thanks for viewing and commenting as usual. I really don't know why it's coming towards me--these guys aren't too shy and more approachable than most species. I didn't bait him with sand fleas or whatever else Plovers eat. At one point during the 2 hours or so I was shooting them I stayed put in the same place for quite a while and they seemed to grow a bit more comfortable. One of my friends has a theory that the smaller the bird the more approachable they are (eg. hummingbirds, warblers, tiny shorebirds, etc.)

I love Steve "Outstanding" I love the LLAP images (low lever avian photography) 8)

Love the raised foot and look !!!!! About the only thing I would suggest is lining up a bit different to point your shadow to the bird. The front will be evenly lit !!!

.... btw that rig probably floats so don't worry about it  8) 8)

Really love the image Steve !!!! Nice going !!!! 8) 8)

Steve! This is fantastic! I like everything about this one. You have been having some great success with your shorebird shooting recently. I've got to get to Crystal Cove.

Thanks for viewing & commenting Brandon. No, this was taken last Saturday, 1/22 so it's not a chick. They are tiny birds--they actually look noticeably smaller than a Sanderling when you see them next to each other.

Steve,

This is another fantastic shot. Love the motion in the feet and the head turn to take advantage of the angle of the sun.

How cute! Catching him midstride was good timing. Very intimate view of this little one.
