One of the last shots I got last year. I was looking for purple sandpipers at the pier, but also bumped in those little fellows who always seem to be around.

Canon EOS10D
Canon EF300/2.8L USM + EF2.0II
1/800 @ f/8.0 (Manual exposure)
ISO 200 / RAW

Nice one Jasper, love the rock. There is a S/H tool halo around the bird and rock.

It´s funny because last week I went after some purple sandpipers as well and I ended up doing some cool turnstone images. Obviously here like over there they forage in the same areas. Your image is great, and I'll post some of mine as soon as I have them digitized.

Another great shot Jasper.

You've really found a good spot.

Lovely shot, nice perch and I like the catchlight in the eye.

All the best, Gearoid
