The splash from a grebe after emerging from a dive.
Taken late in the day just as the light was fading from the golden hour.

D7200 with the 150 600mm lens @ 600. F8 at 1/500sec, ISO720.HH

I now am learning to use the Z8 and the 180-600mm lens.

A beautiful shot Kim. Great timing as you can't get much warning about when and where they pop up. Nicely done. Good luck with the new kit. (looks great).

Great capture of the 'water dome' Kim! Even the grebe looks surprised!

Thanks for the comments everyone. Just as I posted this we got an alarm that a bushfire was heading straight for our farm so I had to go an enact our emergency plan. Luckily all the firefighters and my husband too managed to stop it about a mile from our farm. The fire was started by Easter campers leaving a fire going. We are at the end of summer hear and it been long and dry and hot.

Off to look at and comment on other images now.
