Scratching an Itch

Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6 pf
ISO320, 1/2000s, F7.1

The Merlin perched on this branch for a while preening. It appeared to scratch for an unusual amount of time until it eliminated two feathers on his neck area, this being the second one.
