This male Pileated Woodpecker was working furiously on an old tree stump in someones front yard when I happened to pass by.  Fortunately I had my camera in the car on my way home from stopping at a nearby store. He was so focused on the stump he allowed me to get at a fairly close distance and shoot a series of shots that led to some that were able to be cropped for portraits.

Wow you are lucky to happen in meetings like this and very good at managing to catch them really masterfully.
