Golden Bowerbird (Amblyornis newtonianus) tending to his bower. The stick maypoles which extend up about 1m are there for many seasons, but he decorates the bower in breeding season. He started a few weeks ago, will keep it up until about November when the rain comes. He is tending to the lichens in this capture, but he has a region of dried flowers in the upper left, and a region of green fruit on the other side. You can't really see from this image, but they comprise very distinct non-overlapping regions. He has a store of supplies below the display perch. Pretty cool character. Lives in a very restricted range in the higher rainforest, so you really need to bring your own light.
