I like the coloration on these Red Necked Pharalopes and we were quite fortunate to see many of my recent excursion to Iceland. This was taken at Lake Myvatn in some of the most difficult conditions I have encountered. It was extremely windy and the birds were on rapidly fluctuating waves of half a meter with less than a meter between each wave. So this was taken very close to the shoreline. Grabbing focus on the bird itself was quite difficult.
